Glutathione, vitamin C and hydroquinone

Skin whitening and brightening is a big thing in Asia, so the talk of the town these days are glutathione tablets , vitamin C injections, hydroquinone cream. Glutathione (pronounce as gloo-Ta-thigh-own) is also sometimes known as L-glutathione is an amino acids (protein) produce in our human body ..so many would ask why do we need to take it ? The answer is the #glutathione is used up and breakdown during daily wear and tear , alcohol intake and other stressful situation (big "OH" from the crowd) , so supplementary intake is needed.
How does it work ?
By preventing the production of dark coloured skin pigment, reducing pigmentation/ darkening .
How much to take ?
20-40mg/kg in 2-3 divided dose ( urggghhh, who remembers to take tablets 3 times a day ?) .. So you would want to ask can u take them in one big dose ? The answer is yes of course you can , but your body can only absorb so much at a time, the un-absorbed will goes to waste and the result maybe sub-optimal.
Best taken 3o minutes apart from food/meal to give best absorption.
What does vitamin C do ?
When you are taking glutathione supplements, vitamin C helps maintain glutathione in its absorbable form due to its anti-oxidant property. Vitamin C are found in camu camu fruits , 60 times more than an orange !
Other glutathione boosters are vitamin A and E.
Vitamin C / Glutathione injections
Readily available in beauty clinics , it can be injected or given as a drip with one week apart . Again the most popular question would pop up: is it painful? No,as many doctors / nurse would use Emla (anaesthetic cream) to numb the injection site. The therapy is time consuming and expensive, nevertheless it is popular as results is prominent. The real downside is results are not lasting ,top up is needed after 3 weeks atmost , so make sure u have a huge savings in your bank account LOL
Hydroquinone cream ?
The cheapest of all , but you can't possibly apply the whole body with tubes of cream which comes in 15g pack all the time , can you? It's suitable for freckles lightening and skin pigmentation on face ( small surface area ) . Hydroquinone is similarly described as a bleach. So I guess I don't have to say much about bleaching , long term use would cause skin sensitivity and irritation.
